Non-Artistic Board of Directors

Jessica Richey

Board Chair

Jessica Richey is an entrepreneurial leader and dedicated educator who serves as Board Chair of The Woodlands Ballet Academy. She leverages a unique background in launching business start-ups including non-profits, combined with expertise in educational strategy, to guide the organization's vision for growth and impact.

As the founder and owner of Thoughtfully Styled, a boutique home styling studio, Jessica successfully grew the company from concept to profitability. The foundational knowledge gained from a BBA at Baylor University continues to inform her financial and strategic oversight on the board.

This business insight is balanced by a commitment to mission-driven work, which was formalized through an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Principalship from SHSU. For TWBA, Jessica’s dual perspective ensures strong direction and operational efficiency while keeping the focus on the mission. Her passion for quality accessible education stems from her years as a foster parent and special populations educator/administrator, which drives her commitment to expanding the organization's scholarships program. Jessica lives in The Woodlands with her husband, Mike and their twins Jack and Sophie.

Mike Urquizu

Treasurer

Mike Urquizu serves as Treasurer of the TWBA Board of Directors while also serving as Executive Vice President, Business Development and member of the leadership team for PULSE Network, LLC in Houston.

Mike started his career with several positions in the banking industry, including 6 years at First Chicago (now JP Morgan Chase), where he worked in Investment Operations and as a financial analyst for the credit card division. Developing relationships in banking and payments organizations is ultimately what fueled a career in debit/payments. Mike holds a degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University.
